This was a fun uick read I do love vampire books and I love reading all that I can get my hands on This book had me at the dedication page “This book is for the invisible girls” Mercy has Porphyria which affects her if she’s in the sun too long or by stress and anxiety This causes her to be the town freak and her classmates call her a vampire since she’s pale from staying inside A vampire family moves in hell bent on destroying the town while Mercy tries to figure out how to save itI wasn’t a big fan of Sebastian I wanted him to actively try to stop his family instead of just stand by while his family did what they wanted while he wished he could help but wouldn’t actually do anything to helpI know that this was a novella but it was too short and the ending felt rushed

Mercy Brown Part 1I’ve always been the prey All seventeen year old Mercy Brown wanted to do was finish her last year of high school without any glitches Now vampires are tearing apart the small town of Goodsprings. Want to see bookish things from me Check out my youtube channel was sent a copy of this book in exchange of my honest review255 Stars 17 year old Mercy Brown is starting her senior year of high school After years of being called a freak and a vampire she wants nothing to be invisible for her final year of school When a new boy named Sebastien Balaur starts at her school she discovers that vampires are real and they're about to destroy her small town Working with her best friend Amanda and this new mysterious boy she must defeat the vampires before its too late This book is extremely short which I found to be somewhat of a flaw Everything took place in the span of 4 or 5 days making everything feel far too rushed in my opinion I did really enjoy Mercy as a main character She handled everything very well considering all the shit that went down with her life in such a short period of time I didn't like Sebastien as much he seemed one dimensional and a bit boring to me The insta love between Mercy and Sebastien annoyed me a lot it was literally in the span of an hour and their suddenly making out on Mercy's bed The writing style is easy to read and flows well but overall the story just wasn't for me One thing I did really love was the references to other vampire media such as Twilight and Buffy the Vampire Slayer It was a cute way to weave in different tropes I also loved discovering the Mercy Brown was a real person who lived in Rhode Island
