I really wanted to like this book than I did The premise was fascinating the history well researched and the character of Thessalonike was compelling The biggest problem was the pacing This was not a long book at all and it positively raced through Thessalonike's life It meant a lot of things were skimmed over or explained via a flashback It made for a confusing read at times It also ended at a time when her life was still interesting This book would have benefited from about 200 pages to go into this woman's life and do it justice

OK but sloppy editingIt was interesting to read a novel about such an obscure person but it was hard to follow sometimes because of time jumps with zero transitioning I'm a big fan of proper transitioning
