The Taste Of Metal Ä It's like I've got a shotgun in my mouth with my finger on the trigger and I like the taste of the gun metal Robert Downey JrThe drugs just sort of happened It's not like I'd traveled to Denver Colorado to become immersed in the burgeoning marijuana scene although it was hard to avoid When I showed up the pot industry in the Rocky Mountains was booming and with the recent passing of Amendment 64 was on the tipping point of becoming revolutionary Still legal weed was the furthest thing from my mind on the day I abruptly uit my job at the office cashed out my 401k retirement fund and hopped a plane from the east coast to the Mile High City I did this under the false impression We did not actually pick this book it was passed to us at a party so in a way it picked usIt is a good story and keeps a great pace I think it could have used a lot of editing some of the conversation felt either forced or simply unnatural Also I live in Denver so maybe I am being too harsh there seems to be a lot of odd and extraneous detail about Denver from a character who just got into town The story just didn't feel completely realistic in these regardsAnyway I did enjoy the book overall I would be interested to read from Joe Hnida reader Ò The Taste Of Metal ✓ Joe Hnida

Joe Hnida ✓ The Taste Of Metal pdf Wicked Colfax Avenue What followed was a furious chaotic journey through the emotional depths of a bittersweet addiction And even though it nearly killed me I grew to embrace it I even begged for it; the precarious situations the constant killing of time the sleepless nights the loneliness the fear the desire the ache the denial the inconceivable belief that I could actually control the cravings and the constant longings and the endless capacity to never ever get enough while my haunted soul thumped in unison with my old heart mercilessly demanding and and and But I guess that's the whole point I'm not even talking about the drugs any at least not the ones you're thinking of I ordered this book as a paperback and I'm so glad I did The first thing that drew me in was the cover it imparted a feeling for me and I was instantly curious about the story itself I enjoy reading autobiographies mainly I can't even stomach the sight of another teenage vampirewerewolf or 50 shades knockoffs Why the hell are grown adults reading YA anyway So I read the first 6 chapters as a sample waiting for the book to arrive Refreshing It's like the author knew my craving for a real story that would make me FEEL A story with substance in that he didn't lose me at descriptions 'Word Magic' is the only way I can describe it I found myself actually remembering names of people and laughing out loud at the main character Jake Character Development was on point I never had to go back and reread a section You really get a sense of each person as Jake views them and the author never left you wanting from a characterI was captivated It takes place in Colorado after Jake suddenly uits his job to go help a friend but really it's his wife that he's missing Each 'Part' of the book 4 total almost seems to have a different tone as you're taken on a ride through the events in Jake's life All the while an underlying sense of longing coupled with the fact that he's getting older leaves you to almost uestion your own life Jake is conscious of everything as it happens around him and he's coping with it by smoking a ton of pot and unintentionally getting closer to his friend Reed It reads like you're sitting at a bar having a few beers with your new friend Jake and he's telling you this crazy story that you don't want to endI would have followed him out back to burn one so that he could tell me It's intelligent intoxicating dark heartbreaking humorous and exhilarating all at the same time If you're even mildly curious stop reading this and just order the book I finished it 24 hours a personal recordbecause I couldn't put it down This book grabs you until the end and leaves you wanting the follow up than you can imagine Round of applause for Joe I wish you the best of luck with this book You're style is unmatched from what I've read and you will always be on my favorite author listnot to mention credited for spiking my interest in Denver Looking forward to Lament For The Echoes
