The Middle Place (working title only) review º 104 Ú A story of a girl desperately determined to find a cure for the illness that swept her mother away and could possibly destroy her own life as wellSixteen year old Grace is in a race against time—and in a race for her life—even if she doesn’t realize it yetShe is smart respHe simply disappeared fleeing in fear that she was going to hurt those she cared about most Ever since Grace’s father has worked as a recruiter at one of the leading labs dedicated to studying the disease trying to lure the world’s top scientists to the faculty to find a cure hoping against hope it can happen in time to help his wife if she is ever found But this makes him distant ConsumedGrace. 35I mostly understood what happened but I don't really know how to explain it I liked the plot twist The ending was depressing view spoiler So she's trying the kill herself right but she lives Then in the ending she has a baby with the guy Will She's in a mental hospital looking at the baby and wanting to kill it so it doesn't end up like her Then why did she have a baby in the first place She believes in abortion in case of an accident Also was she not in the mental hospital when she was pregnant So while she's trying to kill herself with the cyanide her father keeps saying they will find the cure eventually You know how the story freaking ends She's standing over a bridge and the narration is just like HAVE FAITH By how horribly depressing her life is she really should have killed herself The whole narrative is that things could get better Do things get better no she's locked up in a mental hospital and there no damn cure in sight just FAITH She said she didn't want to be trapped like this and no one helped her she's still screwed ANOTHER WEIRD THING Is her father dead or not I'm assuming he's actually alive Is Hannah actually a real character and is a metaphor for her mother or is she actually the mother None of this shit is explained Who is Dave then If Hannah's not actually the mother then does the plot twist not even work any Well this was fun I hope someone actually reads this spoiler hide spoiler

This was a cover grab from the library and I went into it not having any idea what it was about because I mean who reads synopsizesAnyway it totally blew my mind during certain parts The writing was beautiful Even though I figured out what was going on before it was really revealed it still played as a good representation for schizophrenia at least to this individual with no mental illness experiences I did have an issue with the males being all protective and helpful towards the female main character Although she definitely needs help I would have preferred she found it on her own I think this book illustrates mental illness in a really uniue and creative way that I found insightful and inspirational
